Balancing his work as actor and producer with multiple businesses, Dwayne Johnson shows no signs of slowing at age 52
Can fans smell what The Rock is cooking? At age 52, Dwayne Johnson is working hard enough to create a full-course meal.
The actor-entrepreneur, celebrating his 52nd birthday on Thursday, May 2, “stays on top of his own projects which keep him extremely busy,” says a source close to Johnson. “He likes it that way.”
Of his “strong” marriage with wife Lauren Hashian, 39, and their daughters Jasmine, 8, and Tiana, 6, the Black Adam star “likes family life but also prefers to keep it separate from his professional life for the most part,” per the source. (Johnson is also father to Simone, 22, who he shares with ex-wife Dany Garcia.)
“When he’s home, he’s home with his kids and wife, who has plenty of her own interests,” adds the source.
But a flourishing career — as an actor, producer, owner of multiple businesses and even wrestler recently returning to the WWE — will certainly continue to be a main focus for Johnson. “Even when home with his family, he is either working or thinking about work,” the source explains. “He likes to meet and greet fans and give them all of his attention.”
Another Miami-based insider tells PEOPLE that the Moana star is a “people pleaser who knows how to satisfy his fans as well as keep his name out there… He uses social media constantly to keep in contact with fans and also to put out what he wants out. People love him.”
In the last month alone, Johnson has shared with his 397 million Instagram followers updates on his strenuous workouts, Teremana tequila brand, rehearsing for Wrestlemania matches, joining friend Chris Janson’s music video and surprising a Staten Island, New York school of kids putting on a Moana stage musical.
“He wants to do it all and he has done a pretty good job of it with success in many areas,” the insider says. “He takes risks and has the confidence to do what he wants.”
By all accounts, it seems the now 52-year-old star “will continue” keeping as many irons in the fire as possible, per the insider. “Failure is not something he thinks about.”
Johnson’s schedule as both actor and producer includes Fast X: Part 2, Jungle Cruise 2, both Moana 2 and the live-action remake of the original, holiday action-comedy Red One and sports biopic The Smashing Machine.
