Caitlin Clark’s boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, gushed over the basketball sensation as she took the orange carpet at the WNBA Draft on Monday.

Clark became the first athlete to wear an all-Prada outfit to a draft night. The former Iowa Hawkeye stepped out in a satin mini skirt and jacket, bedazzled tube top, and black pumps.

When a fan on X asked to see McCaffery’s reaction to his girlfriend’s outfit, he reposted the tweet with a shocked, hand-over-mouth, and drooling emoji.

Clark then responded with a teary-eyed emoji.

Although when they started dating is a mystery, Clark made their romance public with an Instagram post in August 2023. ‘Best end to summer,’ she captioned a photo of them on a boat.

After a historic college career that ended with back-to-back championship game appearances, Clark got selected by the Indiana Fever as the first overall pick on Monday.

‘I got a little anxious there before the pick,’ Clark told ESPN.

‘I dreamed of this moment since I was in second grade, and it’s taken a lot of hard work, a lot of ups and downs, but more than anything, just trying to soak it in.’

Despite failing to cap off her NCAA career with a title, Clark’s senior year will be one to remember. Before the tournament, Clark averaged 31.9 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 8.9 assists per game.

Another highlight from her season was when she broke Pete Maravich’s all-time NCAA scoring record on March 3. In a game against Ohio State, Clark surpassed Pistol Pete’s 3,667 career points by reaching 3,685.

Clark avenged Iowa’s 2023 championship game loss to the LSU Tigers in the Elite 8 and took down Paige Bueckers and UConn in the Final 4 before losing to South Carolina in the finale.

‘It’s really hard to win these things,’ Clark wrote on Instagram after the loss. ‘I think I probably know that better than most people by now.’

‘To be so close twice, it definitely hurts. But at the same time, we were right there. We battled. We took down some really great teams to get back to this point and [did] something that’s really hard to do,’ Clark continued.

Nevertheless, McCaffery continued to show his support by posting a snap of Clark and writing ‘MY GOAT,’ with several heart emojis.
