BBC Breakfast host Sally Nugent apologised to viewers after bulletins were taken off air during the lastest edition of the show.
Presenter Sally halted Monday’s show (December 1) before a news update to tell viewers that a blaze had broken out at the BBC’s headquarters in Glasgow.
She explained: “Now, just before we get the news where you are, we just want to extend an apology to viewers in Scotland where bulletins have been taken off air this morning following a fire at the BBC’s Glasgow headquarters.”
Jon chimed in: “Yes, in a statement, the team in Scotland say that they’re grateful to the emergency services for their rapid response and they’re working to ensure the safety of colleagues and restore TV and radio services as soon as possible.”

Sally then went on: “So, if you think you are seeing the wrong news this morning, that is why we are working really hard to get things back on track and keep everybody safe.”
Images of the BBC building in Glasgow then appeared, showing a fire engine outside of the building.
Moving on, Jon told viewers: “In the meantime, let’s get the news, the travel and weather where everybody else is.”
It was later reported that the fire alarm at the Pacific Quay building went off at around 6.30am and that the building was evacuated for two hours. It is understood that the fire started in a plant room in the building.
