BREAKING NEWS: BBC Breakfast fell into chaos as the presenter made a serious mistake that forced the show to stop broadcasting.

BBC Breakfast: Naga checks in on Matt on Saturday Kitchen

BBC Breakfast was halted for an urgent weather update as a star issued a warning on Saturday (November 15).

During today’s edition of the hit morning programme, hosts Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty updated viewers on the latest news from across the UK and around the world.

They were joined in the studio by Mike Bushell, who presented the sports segment, while Sarah Keith-Lucas delivered regular weather forecasts throughout the show.

Just minutes into the show, Naga revealed that Britons have been warned to prepare for cold weather next week following heavy rain and flooding brought by Storm Claudia on Friday.

“The fallout from Storm Claudia is expected to continue into the weekend with more heavy rain and flooding forecast for much of England and Wales,” she explained.

“A severe amber warning for rain was in place until the early hours, with some areas seeing one months worth of rainfall in a day.”

A pre-recorded clip was then played, with BBC correspondent Barry Caffrey explaining the disruption that Storm Claudia has caused. Videos of cars submerged under water and people wading through the floods were included in the segment.

“While the yellow and amber weather warnings officially came to an end at six o’clock this morning, more rain is expected today,” Barry said.

“And there’s a warning of travel disruption. National Rail says delays and cancellations are expected across the weekend.”

He added: “The Environment Agency said ongoing flooding was likely to continue, and while the rain warnings have come to an end, a yellow cold health alert has been issued for next week for the Midlands and large parts of the North of England.”

Naga then spoke to Barry, who was reporting live from Euston Station in London, which is expected to face major travel disruptions this weekend.

The presenter revealed: “London Northwestern Railway, Avanti West Coast and West Midlands Railway are all experiencing disruption. There’s huge disruption on Great Western Railway. There’s flooding just outside Exeter St Davids, and the line between Swindon and Bristol Parkway, as well as the line between Bath Spa and Chippenham.

“We’re also expecting some disruption to services in Wales and also the TransPennine Express and various northern services too.”

Barry explained that “speed restrictions” would inevitably lead to huge delays, as well as debris and trees falling on some of the rail lines.

Barry then issued a warning to viewers, urging them to “be prepared” for delays and cancellations, and to check with their railway provider before travelling.
