As has become routine, the results – which are filmed on Saturday evening following the live performance show – were revealed by sources several hours before transmission.
Devon Live has opted not to disclose which celebrity and their professional partner reportedly departed the competition.
The leak prompted mixed reactions from viewers, with some claiming they’d anticipated the outcome whilst others expressed genuine surprise.
One viewer questioned on X: “I swear [they] were higher on the leaderboard? Was there a mistake or something?” Another fan wondered whether an error during the dance-off had influenced the judges’ decision.

Hours before the results show was due to air on Sunday, fans found out who was in the dance-off(Image: PA)
This comes as a special collaboration has been announced featuring dance troupe Diversity. Preparations are currently taking place for an unprecedented performance involving the group who shot to fame after winning Britain’s Got Talent in 2009, memorably defeating Scottish singer Susan Boyle in the final.
Fourteen members of Diversity, including well-known faces Perri Kiely and brothers Ashley and Jordan Banjo, will make their first appearance on the BBC ballroom programme on November 16 during the results show.
The routine will see the male hip hop ensemble perform to Raye’s Where Is My Husband? alongside five female professional dancers: Luba Mushtuk, Nadiya Bychkova, Michelle Tsiakkis, Nancy Xu and Jowita Przystał.
A Strictly source revealed: “Fans can expect a spectacular group number choreographed by Jason Gilkinson and Ashley Banjo. Set in LA, it’s a dance extravaganza that sees old school Hollywood collide with hip hop, as the five Strictly pros and Diversity celebrate some of the most iconic screen sirens from the Golden Age of cinema – including Marilyn Monroe.
“The pros will basically be asking Diversity exactly what the song title suggests.”
The results programme showcasing the collaboration will also feature a separate performance from Olly Murs and will be the final show before Strictly’s annual Blackpool Special, which broadcasts on Saturday, 22 November.
