Jack Osbourne is set to enter the I’m A Celebrity jungle camp just months after his dad Ozzy Osbourne died. And the reality TV star, 40, opened up about the death of the rock icon before heading Down Under.

The dad-of-four is one of the biggest names to be appearing on this year’s ITV reality contest and announced the move by sharing a snap of him in jungle attire to his Instagram page.

Alongside it, he wrote: “Hey folks! Well, I was told to keep this a secret but the cat’s out of the bag now.

“I’m headed into the jungle for a few weeks. Why you might ask? I guess I’m just a sucker for punishment hahaha. My team will be managing my social media while I’m away, so don’t worry, they will be keeping you all updated.”

He went on to ask his followers to wish him luck before signing off with a query: “Before I go, does anyone have a good recipe for how to cook a crocodile?”

Jack’s mum Sharon Osbourne has also reacted to her son’s impending appearance. The star revealed he is going into camp with the full support of his mum Sharon and sister Kelly after their heartbreaking year.

“Mum and Kelly, yeah they are absolutely going to be watching,” he said. “They are supportive.”

Jack also confessed to knowing he will miss them terribly, alongside his wife and family. He admitted not being able to call them will be his biggest struggle.

“It’s absolutely going to be hard leaving them behind,” he went on. “I have got lots of kids, my wife, and my family still in the wake of my dad passing. It is going to be difficult, that is for sure.

“It’s not the longest amount of time I’ve been away from them. I’ve gone on different trips filming Adrenaline Junkie for nearly two months without a phone, but I still had access to one and I was able to make calls home. It’s going to be very difficult not speaking to my wife and kids. But yes, I do hope I can make my family proud.”

Despite his nerves, he is excited for the challenge ahead. “I definitely had to think about doing this programme,” he admitted.

“It’s an absolute commitment but the real reason why it is popular is people sit at home saying, ‘Could I do that?’, so I think a lot of why I’ve said ‘yes’ is the intrigue and how would I survive that? I am very nervous though!”

Jack and his family have been mourning the death of icon Ozzy Osbourne, who died aged 76 in July. His death came just weeks after his farewell Back to the Beginning concert at his beloved Villa Park.

After his dad’s death, Jack took to Instagram to share his thoughts. Weeks after the sad passing of the Black Sabbath star, Jack wrote: “I haven’t really wanted to post anything since the passing of my father.

“My heart has hurt too much. I’m gonna keep this short because he certainly hated long rambling speeches. He was so many things to so many people, but I was so lucky and blessed to be apart of a very small group that got to call him “Dad”.

“My heart is full of so much sadness and sorrow, but also so much love and gratitude. I got 14,501 days with that man and I know that is such a blessing.”
