I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! has long been known for catapulting its champions into an entirely new level of fame — and last year’s winner, McFly star Danny Jones, is no exception. The ITV juggernaut routinely turns its Kings and Queens of the Jungle into some of the most in-demand names in entertainment, with many contestants earning up to £1 million in opportunities after their victory.

Previous champions like Stacey Solomon used their win to carve out major television careers, landing long-term roles such as Loose Women and fronting BAFTA-winning programmes. Scarlett Moffatt, who was still early in her Gogglebox days when she claimed the crown in 2016, also went on to become a household favourite, appearing on Big Brother Late & Live and fronting major campaigns.

More recent winners include Lioness Jill Scott, This Morning favourite Sam Thompson, and Emmerdale star Danny Miller — all of whom saw their profiles skyrocket post-jungle. And now, as the newest series kicks off with stars like Lisa Riley, Martin Kemp and Alex Scott, fans are looking back at last year’s King of the Jungle to see what’s become of him.
In 2024, Danny Jones charmed the public and beat out stiff competition from Reverend Richard Coles and WAG Coleen Rooney. The McFly singer — who followed in the footsteps of his bandmate Dougie Poynter, who also won over a decade earlier — entered the jungle alongside names like Oti Mabuse, Alan Halsall and Tulisa.

After being crowned champion, Danny told The Mirror: “It feels amazing… I feel on top of the world. I’m here in beautiful Australia and I’m just going to switch my phone off and spend time with my family.”
And he kept that promise. Following his win, Danny resumed touring with his McFly bandmates Tom Fletcher, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd. They even joined forces with Busted for a series of shows, and Danny later returned to his red chair as a coach on The Voice for the show’s 14th series.
Away from the limelight, Danny prioritised family — especially his emotional reunion with his son Cooper, seven, and wife Georgia. Speaking about the moment he left the jungle, Danny said: “It was the most beautiful moment of my entire life… Cooper’s little smile, his excitement — it was pure love.”
He recalled Cooper proudly telling him he was “the talk of the school” and cheekily begging him not to bring home any jungle “critters.” Danny admitted he cried when Georgia told him how proud she was. The experience had been gruelling, isolating, and unforgettable.
But earlier this year, things took a complicated turn when Danny made headlines for an unexpected reason. He was spotted kissing Love Island star Maura Higgins — his former campmate — at the BRIT Awards, sparking a wave of scandal and intense public scrutiny.
A source close to Danny said he was “mortified” and devastated by the situation he had put his family in. Throughout the ordeal, he was adamant about one thing: his wife Georgia and their son are “everything” to him.
Danny later addressed the incident publicly, breaking his silence with a heartfelt message: “I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love them so much, and we’ll deal with this privately.”
Since then, Danny has refocused on music, touring and his role as a coach. With McFly announcing another tour planned for summer 2026, fans hope the new chapter marks a fresh start for the singer.
“I love you guys,” Danny told his followers. “Thank you for your patience, understanding, and support. See you soon.”
