Strictly Come Dancing’s La Voix has quit the competition.
Opening the show in Blackpool tonight, host Tess Daly said: “As you may have heard, La Voix sustained an injury meaning she can’t dance in Blackpool and following medical advice from our team, we can now confirm that she has had to withdraw from the competition.”
A statement from La Voix earlier in the week said: “My heart truly breaks knowing I won’t be dancing in such an iconic venue. I am devastated not to be joining the rest of the cast on that famous dancefloor, but my focus now is on recovery.
“I’ll be cheering on all the amazing couples this weekend.”

BBC Strictly Come Dancing is set to welcome back four former contestants to the dance floor during Sunday night’s results show on November 23, and emotions are running high.
Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts, actor Danny Mac, pop star Jay McGuiness and West End star Layton Williams are all lacing up their dancing shoes once again for a special performance at the iconic Tower Ballroom in Blackpool.
However, for Danny Mac, who partnered with professional dancer Oti Mabuse in 2016 and finished as runner-up to Ore Oduba, the butterflies have well and truly returned.

Speaking about his feelings ahead of the performance, he confessed: “It’s a big mixture of emotions. The most prevalent one is probably feeling quite physically sick!
“I’ve been back to Elstree Studios to watch the show and it’s just pure excitement, gratitude and joy because they are all the things you get from just being in the place. But as soon as you attach the idea of performing again it just gets quite terrifying!”, reports Wales Online.

Reflecting on his favourite memory from his time in Blackpool, he recalled: “It was almost certainly getting our first 40. It’d been a long time coming and we were very excited. It was a magical place and a really exciting point in the season as well. We even met Peter Kay!”
Similarly, Jay McGuiness, who lifted the glitterball trophy in the 2015 series alongside professional partner Aliona Vilani, is also experiencing pre-performance jitters. He expressed: “I feel I am having flashbacks to pre-show anxiety. Like, who gets the chance to come back to Strictly? ! It’s very very rare. I wanted Strictly to have me back ever since it first happened. So I feel so lucky and I can’t believe I’m here, it’s really cool.”

He confessed that performing at Backpool was “amazing”. He continued: “I remember we were buzzing, we were sat on the table at the back of the dance with all the pros down at the front. And then we came zooming down among them – it was amazing!”
“I also remember Anita Rani did a Paso Doble with red curtains flying everywhere. She was just amazing. It was one of those weeks where you go, woah I’ve just watched a dance that’s going to be replayed on YouTube for years.”
Ashley described her return to Strictly as “wild”. She stated: “It’s been seven years since I did Strictly now and I can’t believe I’m now back. Blackpool is the marker, right? Everybody wants to get there. It’s truly legendary and iconic. I want that bouncy floor giving me a little extra something-something on the night!”.
