Hot on the heels of her Strictly Come Dancing elimination, reality TV star Vicky Pattison has been dealt another blow as her Channel 4 dating show has been cancelled after just one season. The Honesty Box saw singletons head to a paradise-like resort called Truetopia to test if radical honesty is the best path to finding love in a bid to resolve their relationship woes. They were also in with a chance of winning a £100,000 prize fund. However the broadcaster has decided not to renew it after it was beaten in the ratings by their second new dating offering Virgin Island which has been green lit for a second season.

“Honesty Box was a brilliant format from a great team, but there were many great new reality hits this year. We have had tough decisions on what to return. Virgin Island really landed with our audience and will return next year,” a Channel 4 spokesman said, confirming the news that it had been axed

The experimental show took its name from a lie detector system, called the Honesty Box, which asked probing questions to the contestants.

However, it wasn’t all bad news for Vicky as she also landed another gig with the broadcaster.

Alongside Adam Hills, Davina McCall and Hannah Fry, she is set to co-host Channel 4’s annual Stand Up To Cancer fundraiser, which takes place on December 12.

Speaking about the role, she said: “I’ve supported cancer-related causes for many years, taking part in fundraising treks and awareness campaigns for breast cancer, and it means a great deal to continue championing such work.”

The star is also producing her own documentary, which will chart her and husband Ercan Ramadan’s journey to parenthood, which is set to air next year on E4.

Following her Strictly departure, the former Geordie Shore star revealed her “heart broke” for her dance partner, Kai Widdrington, as she knew they were leaving when it was announced they were in the dance-off.

The pair exited the show on Sunday, November 16, when they were voted out for their Jive after going head to head with EastEnders’ Balvinder Sopal.

Her exit meant she did not make it to the legendary dancefloor in Blackpool for the show which broadcast on Saturday, November 22.
