Strictly’s George revealed his mum has been diagnoses with cancer(Image: BBC)
It was an emotional night on Strictly Come Dancing on Saturday (November 15) as George Clarke revealed his mum’s recent cancer diagnosis.
The YouTube and social media star, 25, told viewers the devastating news ahead of his performance with professional dance partner Alexis Warr.
George and Alexis are amongst the eight couples left in the BBC dance contest, with each of them hoping to make it through to dance in the Blackpool Tower Ballroom next week.
Tonight, viewers saw George and his pro partner dance an emotional Rumba to Somewhere Only We Know.

In a VT ahead of his performance, George revealed that his mum, Nicky, has been diagnosed with cancer, and that he was dedicating his dance to her.

The internet personality said: “The song is really special to me and my family. My sister sang it at my grandad’s funeral. It reminds us of him and of being together as a family.”
George then opened up on his mum’s previous health battles.
“When I was 16, I was about to leave for hockey practise with my dad and he said ‘oh I’ll just check on Mum one more time because she was feeling a bit ill,” he shared.
“He went upstairs and she was having a seizure. She was diagnosed with a brain inflammation called encephalitis.”
Speaking to Alexis, George then added: “I had no idea what it was and most people that do know is because it has affected them in a horrible way.
“She’s the most selfless person I’ve ever met. When she came out of hospital was apologise for what she’d put us through.”

George then revealed his mum’s recently cancer diagnosis. “Unfortunately, recently my mum got diagnosed with cancer,” he shared.
“Nobody deserves what she has gone through, but least of all her. It has just taken up so much of her life now.”
He then revealed that his mum Nicky would be in the audience watching him perform.
“I always tell her I love her, but I guess this is more showing it,” he said. “There is not a lot I can do to help so to give her this is special.”
Following his touching performance, fans slammed judge Craig Revel Horwood for making a ‘rude’ comment.
Craig said: “Technically it wasn’t great, I’ve got to be honest.
“It actually wasn’t a Rumba so for me it was difficult to judge. You danced a contemporary dance that belongs in musical theatre.”
Craig continued: “Admittedly, the story was absolutely magnificent, you told that beautifully so you achieved that.
He then said: “You will win the audience votes with it but unfortunately you won’t win my vote.”
Craig gave the George a six, whilst Motsi gave a seven and Shirley and Anton both awarded eights
